We went to our cabin for the weekend and it was ocean-salt pine-tree scented relaxing. Here Henry and Karenna discover the Watmough Head beach trail. Watmough Head is a stunning cliff-backed cove. The San Juan Nature Conservancy just finished a successful fund-raising drive to buy the last piece of private land on the cove, making a beautiful untouched corner of the San Juans.

We spent several days visiting my parents in Canada. They live about 2 hours from a lovely beach that stretches for miles along the shore of Lake Huron. The sun was setting, the shadows were long, and the sandcastles were mighty!
